Halloween Theme Re-imagining

Halloween (1978) features one of the most iconic soundtracks and main themes of any horror movie ever released. The driving 5/4 rhythm and the dissonant, droning melody created an uneasy, anxious, vibe.

The soundtrack is credited for giving the film it’s creep edge.

“I screened the final cut minus sound effects and music, for a young executive from 20th Century Fox. She wasn’t scared at all. I then became determined to ‘save it with the music.’ I had composed and performed the musical scores for my first two features, Dark Star and Assault on Precinct 13, as well as many student films. I was the fastest and cheapest I could get.”

This year, given the extra free time I had on my hands (thanks 2020!) I thought I’d take a shot at re-imagining the theme. It’s not perfect but I did have fun.
